Five arrested for electrician’s murder
The Manchester police have charged a woman and four men with murder following an incident that claimed the life of 31-year-old Otis Moore, an electrician of West Road, Cobbla, on April 8.
Charged are: 32-year-old Gorald Housen, otherwise called 'Azzy,' an electrician; 23-year-old Shemar Brown, otherwise called 'Tar'; 32-year-old Romania Christie, otherwise called 'Maro'; 33-year-old Ricardo Dewdney, otherwise called 'Mice'; and 36-year-old Arianne Housen, otherwise called 'Shantel', all labourers of Village district in the parish.
Reports from the Mandeville police are that at 8:45 p.m., Gorald and Moore had a dispute which escalated to a physical altercation, after which Gorald reportedly left the scene. It was alleged that he later returned with relatives, all armed with machetes and knives. The group allegedly attacked Moore, inflicting multiple wounds to his upper body before fleeing the area. The police were summoned, and upon their arrival, Moore was assisted to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation was launched into the incident, which led to the five accused being arrested. They were subsequently charged on Monday after a question-and-answer session. A court date for them is being finalised.
