Left behind! Honduran fisherman wandering Spanish Town nabbed
Stranded and alone after being left behind by his colleagues, a 45-year-old Honduran national was picked up by police in Spanish Town on Saturday on suspicion of illegal entry.
The man has been identified as Rodolfo Enrique Delcid Olin of La Ceiba, Atlanta, Honduras.
Reports from the St Catherine North Police say that about 11:00 a.m. on January 4, 2026, Olin was seen walking along Church Street in Spanish Town when he was accosted by lawmen.
Checks conducted by the police revealed that he is a foreign national.
During questioning, Olin told investigators that he had travelled to Jamaica with a group of men to fish for lobsters. However, he claimed that his colleagues left him behind on the Pedro Cay and failed to return for him.
Olin was taken into police custody for processing, while the Passport, Immigration and Citizenship Agency was contacted.
Investigations are ongoing.
