December 09, 2025

A Saint Catherine man who admitted to stealing copper wires valued at $750,00 from bauxite company UC Rusal has been remanded until February sixteen 2026 for sentencing.

The accused, twenty one year old Davian Bailey of Byndloss District in Saint Catherine, appeared in the Saint Catherine Parish Court on December nine 2025. He entered guilty pleas to simple larceny and malicious destruction of property.

Senior Parish Court Judge Desiree Alleyne has ordered a Social Enquiry Report to assist in determining his sentence.

The court heard that on December one 2025 security personnel assigned to the company were on patrol when they saw Bailey cutting wires at the Number Four Well in Banbury District in Saint Catherine. He was held and several feet of copper wire along with a hacksaw blade were found in a bag he was carrying.

He was later handed over to the Linstead police where he was arrested and charged with simple larceny and malicious destruction of property.
